Industrial Athlete Mastery Series
Mastery in Management of Work Comp Patients
Treating work comp patients can be frustrating or rewarding, with great or ho-hum outcomes, it all depends on how you approach the patient and the treatment.
This four-part series will help you understand how treatment and management of patients with work related injuries is significantly different from treating the average physical therapy outpatient and what techniques will make work comp case managers and adjusters see you as the local work comp PT expert. Develop effective work conditioning and work simulation programs to know when patients have met work goals. Hone your marketing skills by incorporating strategies into patient care and knowing what activities should be used when marketing to various sources (hint, not just physicians).
There are many uses and abuses of Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE). And the test is used differently in workers compensation and disability determination. This course will teach you when and how to use an FCE appropriately. You’ll also learn the characteristics of a defensible FCE and how to approach the issues of cooperation with testing and sincerity of effort.
Four courses in the series:
- Introduction to Occupational Health Physical Therapy: Excel in Outpatient Treatment of the Work Comp Patient
- Advanced Work Rehabilitation: the Future of Work Conditioning and Work Simulation
- Marketing in the Work Comp Arena
- Incorporating Functional Capacity Evaluations into Your Practice
