Training: Functional Capacity Evaluation
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) are used to make life-changing decisions that affect patients’ livelihoods. ErgoScience understands the importance of accurate, reliable and valid test administration and results, and have even researched the appropriate length and format of our FCE training to ensure that clinicians receive the necessary length of training and the appropriate balance of both instruction and application.
Training for ErgoScience’s proprietary FCE occurs over a period of three days. This course provides instruction in ErgoScience’s proprietary FCE administration and documentation using ErgoScience’s report writing software, as well as the opportunity to apply what you have learned by utilizing case examples. Training courses are conducted by an ErgoScience certified trainer, ensuring that you receive professional training from an experienced industrial therapist.
Essential skills acquired upon completion of this course include:
- Can consistently identify safe maximum effort
- Will reliably recognize deviations in posture and movement patterns

- Will be able to integrate appropriate musculoskeletal screens
