Meet Our Staff
Nancy graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor’s of Health Science (Occupational Therapy) from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Since then, her practice has specialized in industrial rehabilitation assessment, treatment and return-to-work programming for clients with injuries of all types. Ms. Hughes has completed many on-site work assessments, physical demand analyses, work evaluations and ergonomic consultations in jobs ranging from clerical/ sedentary positions to heavy industry. She has designed and implemented modified return-to-work programs and ease-back-to-work programs, which have been successful in returning clients to their former or alternate occupations.
In 1994, Nancy was among the first therapists in Canada trained in the use of the ErgoScience Physical Work Performance Evaluation (PWPE). She became a Certified PWPE Trainer in 1996 and has since trained and advised many Physical and Occupational Therapists across Canada on behalf of ErgoScience. Since 2004, Ms. Hughes has functioned in the role of Manager of Clinical Support and Quality Assurance Review services for ErgoScience. In this role, she advises FCE providers and referral sources on "best practice" methods for functional capacity evaluations, ergonomic assessments, post-offer employment screens and quantitative job demands analyses. Nancy also assists ErgoScience with new product development and service initiatives.
