Meet Our Staff Debra Browne

Debra completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy at the South Australian Institute of Technology (now called The University of South Australia) in 1980. Since graduating, she has worked in a number of fields including Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Gerontology, Pain Management and Rheumatology, both in the public and private sectors. She then worked in Vocational Rehabilitation starting in 1989, which is when Debra developed a keen interest in functional capacity evaluations.

Debra works as an injury management consultant providing a variety of services, primarily in the areas of workers’ compensation, motor vehicle accidents, office ergonomics and the private sector in prevention services. The services Debra provides include case management, functional capacity evaluations, worksite assessments, job analyses, ergonomic assessments, training and consulting in aging workforce projects. Debra’s interest in functional capacity evaluations has extended to education, training and publishing in this area. Debra was trained in the PWPE in 1999 and has been exclusively using this assessment for all functional evaluations since, and has been a PWPE trainer for ErgoScience since 2007.
